20.11.2014  |  In 2014 I have spent several months as a trainee with Herfurth & Partner, as a part of my master studies at Bucerius Law School and also for practical experience.

The most important phase of writing master thesis is choosing a right topic, because there is a good possibility that during the course of your work it might not be as interesting as you would have imagined, but then its already too late. I was facing the same dilemma, as it’s incredibly hard to come with a topic which is novel but also addressed legal issues and their business implications.

I would like to express my special thanks of gratitude to Mr. Ulrich Herfurth, who came up with a very interesting and demanding idea of writing my master thesis on private investment security in renewable energies  in Pakistan, Iran and India and for all the confidence and support when the need be. This thesis opened new avenues for my career and now I am very much open to the idea of working in the same.

The working environment at the firm is very supportive and you feel much appreciated for what you do. Even before formally starting my training at the firm, to write my master thesis, I was continuously involved and invited at the energy group meetings, to keep myself updated on the recent developments in the field, positive discussion on the difficulties in gathering data for the research and firm’s resources were always open for the same. I was also supported by a very helpful and resourceful supervisor for my thesis Dr. Christiane Trüe who gladly accepted the role and was always available with the right solutions.

Last but not the least the highlight of writing my master thesis was the office that was assigned to me, with a really nice view which was a very welcomed distraction from the entire stress and work load.

I would strongly recommend Herfurth & Partner for all the aspiring graduates where you would be offered individual attention, engaged in day to day tasks and welcomed for any support that you might need. ( Arslan Chaudry, Hannover/Lahore)
